FPC Newton- High School Mission Team Helps Tennessee Community
Eleven youth and three adults from First Presbyterian Church in Newton recently traveled to Eastern Tennessee to help refurbish homes and landscape areas for families & organizations in need.
The group lived at the Cedar Creek Presbyterian Church Mission Center near Greeneville and worked at 8 locations. Two decks were replaced, one handicapped camp stained, 500 backpacks full of school supplies assembled, 2 areas landscaped, air conditioner removed and help a local church prepare for week long overnight camp.
This is the 8th mission trip to Cedar Creek Presbyterian Mission Center that First Presbyterian High School Youth have participated.
Team Members included Lauren Holcomb, Anna Kirby, Christian Kelly, Ellen Williams and Sam Owensby, Deb Wakefield, Suzanne Rhinehart, Callie Inscoe, Joseph Inscoe, Tyler Inscoe, Leo Yenderusiak, Meg Yenderuisak, Kylene Hall and Elizabeth Edwards.
First Presbyterian Newton is located at 701 N. Main Avenue and has a long tradition of mission work in Catawba County, in the Southeast and overseas.
