FPC Young Disciples
FPC Newton welcomes children of all ages in worship!
Infants and Toddlers
For infants and toddlers, loving and safe childcare during our service. From 9:45 a.m. - 11:00 am. Our nursery is located on the lower level, first room on the right, down the hall to the right, after you enter the double doors of our lower parking lot entrance. Of course, you may always keep your child with you in the sanctuary as well.
Several times a year our young disciples participate in worship. From waving Palm branches for the Palm Sunday processional to waving steamers for Pentecost. We try to get our children involved in worship at a very young age.
As you enter the sanctuary, be sure to grab a Worship Kit from the rack just outside the doors of the sanctuary.
Time For Young Disciples
Early in the service, children are invited to join our Director of Children, Youth, and Family Ministries, Laura Sparks, at the chancel steps for Time For Young Disciples—an opportunity to relate some aspect of the scripture or worship in a way that children and all present can understand.
After the Time For Young Disciples, children ages K-5 may follow the B.L.A.S.T teacher downstairs. B.L.A.S.T. stands for BELIEVE. LEARN. AND. SEEK. TRUTH. This is a time for our Young Disciples to learn and grow their faith through hands on lessons. The B.L.A.S.T. teacher will bring all the children back upstairs during the last hymn of service.
Young Disciple Activities
Once a month, our Young Disciples gather together for a fellowship event. This could be lunch after service, gem mining, trampoline park, and so much more. This is a wonderful opportunity to get together and have fun as a church family.
During the summer with join up with the children and families at Beth Eden Lutheran Church for a joint VBS. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet new friends, play games, and learn and grow in our faith together.
At FPC Newton, we believe that no hands are too small to serve God. During the year we offer opportunities for our Young Disciples and their family to participate in mission projects.
