Hunger Walk This Sunday!

Parents and youth,

Please make this a family priority for this Sunday, October 15th.  This is a very important event to make our youth aware of hunger in Eastern North Carolina.  I was disappointed in our youth participation last year even though our church was the largest fund raiser. Invite your friends to walk and participate with you.

Pick up a packet at church, The Corner Table or ECCCM this week or grab one Sunday morning and stand in the narthex to get donations.  Ray & I will sponsor $10 per youth walker.  I will be available with my donation prior and after Sunday worship.

If you can, please let me know who from your family is participating.

Schedule:

2:15 p.m.  Meet Suzanne on the North side of the Newton Courthouse with your fundraising packet. Make sure it is completed.  Please try to be on time so FPC Newton can turn in our packets together as a team.  I will give our youth forms to Candi Jongetjes, who will turn in our packets as a church team. Do not register yourself.  Candi will take care of it.

3 p.m.  Event Begins (3 mile walk --- new route) with water stations at high school and old auditorium.

4 p.m.  Awards & Refreshments- Parents pick up around 4:20 p.m.

The Eastern Catawba County Hunger Walk is a community event benefiting the Eastern Catawba Cooperative Christian Ministry, Inc. and The Corner Table Soup Kitchen. The goals of this three-mile walk are to raise funds for hunger relief efforts in eastern Catawba County and to raise awareness of the hunger issue in our community. Your participation will ensure ECCCM and The Corner Table can keep feeding the 20% of families living with food insecurity in eastern Catawba County.

You can participate in multiple ways: walk or sponsor. To walk you can either create a fundraising page on 2017hungerwalk.causevox.com or pick up a donation envelope at the church to be turned in on the day of the walk. A $20 donation is required to receive an event t-shirt.

Awards will be presented for the largest team and top fundraiser so bring your friends and make a team! FPC Newton won top fundraiser last year.

Sponsorship opportunities are offered at multiple levels with differing benefits. This is a great opportunity for your employer, church, civic group, etc. to make an impact on the community and get their name out!
